Brass statues from Nepal are well known for its high quality and excellent craftsmanship. The artisans, especially from the Kathmandu valley, have reached a very high standard of quality. Their brass statues are shipped all over the world en they find their way to monasteries, temples and private ownership. As we have good connections with the makers we can offer you the best quality.
What is so special about the Nepalese brass statues? The fact that not two statues are the same, as the method of production is of the lost wax method. Every time a statue is made, the unique form is lost while pouring the brass. The wax melts and the cast will be broken to unveil product. This method of production is very labour intensive.
When a statue is unveiled from its form, it’s still very rough and unpolished. It will be worked with small hammer and fine chisels to give it its final form and details. With a file the rough edges are smoothened and by polishing the statue will get its finishing touch.
