Sustainability

The rich history of the Kingdom city of Bhaktapur is still very visible today. Many years of renovations of the temples and public buildings have made the city a cultural heritage.
The Nepalese people are proud of their city. Because of their active involvement in the renovations they have developed a growing craftsmanship in many categories. Royal Bhaktapur has associated its name with quality and craftsmanship. In our view the people and their products have a central position. Good quality for a good price, that is for us doing a fair and honest business.

By mainly cooperating with small entrepreneurs, we are directly supporting people and the local economy. This results in a direct improvement of the living environment as well as the quality of life. One of our main goals is not have child labor involved in producing our products. Children need to have the chance to go to school and to play. We want to give them that possibility.

Sustainability is a part of our thinking and working, we strive for an improvement of the quality of life. By closely cooperating, teamwork and joining in a dialog with our producers we try to improve and adjust our products to the wishes of our customers.

By continuously working with these processes we are able to innovate our products. Sustainability is useful for all parties. It gives us the possibility to improve the quality of life. The contacts we maintain with our producers in Nepal are stimulating us to permanently support the justice of fair trade. Royal Bhaktapur will continuously support the sustainability, now and in the future. These goals will be reached in a few of the following ways:
·    using natural and environmentally friendly products;
·    no child labor involved;
·    fair trade, a good product for a fair price;
·    stimulating the local economies of scale;
·    supporting micro credits.
